Great Thought for the Day:

“No artist believes in escapism. And we secretly believe that no audience does. We have proved, at any rate, that they will pay to see the truth, for no other reason than her nakedness.”

Sort of an unrelated note, but there used to be a place at my school where people would gather to smoke. It was called Plato's Cave. Cause, well, you know...

Yup, that's what I should have said at the Sound and The Fury class today. D'oh!

Off-topic, but really awesome post over on Walter Jon Williams' blog about the CIA using the script to the LORD OF LIGHT for a rescue operation in Iran.

I was truly saddened today. I went over to barns and nobles to pick up a copy of heroes die and blade of tyshalle for a friend's Christmas gift (he's been wanting my copies since I let him read heroes die). I had no luck at all. I couldn't even find a copy of your latest book in the series. For a series as good as this one, it should be an easy find in any major book store. Could you point me to where I can find some new copies? I already found used on the net, but I would prefer new copies.

You can order Heroes Die and Caine Black Knife at Barnes & Noble, but about the only way you're finding Blade of Tyshalle book is used for like $30-70. The B&N has been out of Heroes Die forever, and had one copy of Caine Black Knife left.

You can get an e-book of BoT, but in order to read it with the B&N e-book reader, you have to unlock it with the credit card number you used to purchase it.

Meanwhile, New Moon sold 12 trillion copies a day and is now number one in movie theaters this weekend. There's a special level in Hell for Stephanie Meyers.

I mean the local B&N.

ya know, Guy...
The only people I've ever seen liking the Twilight franchise are early teen girls and mid-to-late 20's *ahem* large women.

Love,
Greg

You can find a copy of Blade of Tyshalle off Amazon for around $20-30.

Used, but if you could find it new these days it would be something of a small miracle.

So how long until His Father's Fist? And how much can you tell us about it?

HFF should come out in mid-to-late 2011.

As to how much I can tell you, the answer is, roughly speaking, everything (not laboring under contractual confidentiality clauses).

However, how much I will tell you is another matter.

Let me put it this way: Act of Atonement will in every way live up to the Acts of Caine tradition of fundamentally warping all possible future stories.

Because it's Caine. Which means that actions have consequences. And if the consequences were happy ones, he wouldn't know what the fuck to do with himself.

wow, 2011. At least I know it'll be worth the wait since your the one working on it. Let us know when the pre-orders are up.

Oh, come on. That's no fun. How about characters? Who is going to show up in the book? Kierendal? Deliann? Faith? Berne? Ma'elKoth? Tizarre? Duncan? Raithe?

Or the setting? Will we visit Ankhana? Earth? Lipke?

Sorry to keep pestering you about it, but 2011 is too a long wait for more Caine.

Adam said...

*too long to wait for more Caine.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

I would have said it earlier, but my fingers got too fat to type.
